Bringing the Community Together With Our Special Community Events
Rooted & Rising hosts a number of special gatherings and community events throughout the year, including our annual Community Block Party, annual Chili Fest & Family Resource Fair, Thanksgiving and Christmas meal distributions, Resident Christmas Dinner and much more. Community Volunteers are needed at these events to welcome our guests, serve meals, organize activities, set-up and break down, and spread good cheer.
Empowering Communities Through Engaging Community Activities
You will be hard pressed to find a more active group than Rooted & Rising’s Neighborhood Engagement Team (NET), which hosts, organizes and supports a wide range of community activities throughout the year.
Other Volunteer Opportunities for groups and individuals
Volunteer groups are needed and welcomed throughout the year to help with a number of different projects and community activities, and we are always open to your own ideas. From assisting with landscaping, cleaning and organizing the Community Food Bank, painting and upgrading apartment units and common areas, and more advanced building projects, we have opportunities for groups of all ages, sizes and skills.
We would love to have a conversation with you and your group about what you are looking to do and how you might be able to help, and we will work with you to develop an appropriate, impactful volunteer project. All group volunteer experiences can include a tour of Rooted & Rising’s facilities and time to have a conversation with staff about the agency’s history, mission and range of services we provide to the Washington Park community.
Student groups and other volunteers under the age of 18 require adult supervision. To arrange group volunteer opportunities, please contact us at (414) 344-1818 or info@rootedandrisingwp.org.
