Increasing family stability when families no longer need to move constantly when trading off paying rent for buying groceries or meeting other expenses
Offering social service support

Neighborhoods with a mix of quality housing have lower crime rates, better performing schools, stronger local economies and a better overall quality of life
Businesses benefit as families have an increased ability to shop for food, services and goods
Schools benefit from a more stable population with parents better able to be involved in their children’s educational experience
Investing in the Washington Park neighborhood will help revitalize the neighborhood by complementing other recent improvements
The City of Milwaukee will benefit from the United Methodist Children’s Services affordable rental housing project in ways that include:
Milwaukee businesses and agencies working with UMCS include, Community Development Advocates, Friends of Housing, Engberg Anderson Design Partnership and Universal Construction Solutions.
